The meat usually used for fajitas is beef or chicken, cut into strips and quickly cooked together with vegetables and spices.

    Organic chicken fajitas recipe

    To prepare organic chicken fajitas, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 500g organic or regular chicken breast
  • 2 peppers cut into strips (yellow and red for added color)
  • 1 white onion cut into strips
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Guacamole sauce to taste
  • Soft or semi-hard cheese to season to taste
  • Corn tortillas or wraps

    Spices for marinating chicken fajitas

    The chicken and the combination of ingredients and tippings that we will have fun composing for our fajitas are already a good basis for having a sublime taste, but if we want to add that extra something to our meat, we can marinate it with a combination of spices that we desire .

    We can simply marinate it with oil, salt, garlic and lemon or lime juice or add sweet or spicy paprika or a RUB dedicated to chicken meat. The important thing is that the meat is marinated for at least 1 hour before cooking, the ideal time is always about overnight.

    Here is our marinade idea:

    • 1 teaspoon paprika
    • 1 lemon
    • 1 teaspoon cumin
    • 1 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 clove of garlic or garlic powder
    • Chicken RUB or Buffalo RUB

    Fajitas dish procedure

    Now that we have talked about the meat and the cooking method, let's move on to the actual recipe. Here's how to prepare them.

    First, cut the chicken breast into thin strips and place it in a bowl. Add the marinating spices: paprika, cumin, black pepper and salt, and mix well. Leave to marinate for at least 30 minutes. In the meantime, wash and cut the peppers and onion into strips.

    Heat the wok over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of oil. Add the meat and cook for 5-7 minutes, until browned and cooked through. Remove the meat from the wok and set aside.

    In the same wok, add the peppers and onion and cook for 5-6 minutes, until soft and lightly browned. Add the meat and mix well.

    Heat tortillas or wraps in a hot skillet for 1-2 minutes per side, until soft and warm. Squeeze lemon over meat and vegetables.

    To serve, you can have fun assembling your fajitas, prepare all the ingredients you want to add such as salad, corn, beans, guacamole sauce and cheese, put some meat and vegetables in the center of each tortilla and roll up to enjoy.
