Beef fillet with green pepper: a romantic dinner

The recipe for beef fillet with pepper: simplicity and taste

When you want to cook a perfect dish for a romantic dinner, beef fillet with green pepper never disappoints. Good, not abundant and very simple to prepare, it is perfect for spending a good evening in good company and also leaving room for a dessert - strictly - chocolate.

Beef fillet is one of the most loved and consumed cuts of meat thanks to its versatility in the kitchen. In addition to its simple goodness, it is a tender and lean cut of meat - given the long maturation it undergoes -, perfect for every palate and with a unique and special format that adapts to the many tasty recipes that each region of Italy offers with this meat.

As well as simply seared and enjoyed rare, one of the most famous - and romantic - proposals is certainly the pepper version (pink or green) with a tasty cream sauce that will conquer the palate gently but with an amazing flavour. If we then accompany everything with a light salad and a good glass of red wine, success will be guaranteed. Let's see how to prepare this super quick recipe: you will cook it sooner than eat it. A small note: the most suitable pepper is the green one because the black one in grains tends to be much stronger and could overpower the flavors.

Beef fillet with green pepper

Fillet with green pepper ingredients for two people

  • 2500 g beef fillets
  • 3 teaspoons of green pepper (or pink according to taste)
  • 3 tablespoons brandy (or white wine)
  • 8 - 10 dl of vegetable cream
  • butter to taste
  • Salt to taste

Beef fillet with pepper method

Take the beef fillets and tie them with kitchen string to give them a nice rounded shape and maintain it during cooking. Lightly crush about half of the peppercorns with a mortar and sprinkle them on one side of the fillets.

Now let's take a pan and melt the butter over a low heat. As soon as it reaches temperature, raise the heat, add the fillets and brown them quickly for about 2/3 minutes on each side.

Now add the Brandy and let it evaporate briefly to evaporate the alcohol. Once blended, add the vegetable cream, the remaining peppercorns and let all the flavors blend for a maximum of 1 minute. Serve immediately piping hot on a bed of salad and a good glass of red wine . Enjoy your meal.
